Spring is Here!!!!! Part 4: Blooming and Regrowth in Your Life
Though most of the time, my plans go extremely well, landing me in the places I need to be, in the moments I need to be in them, sometimes things do fall through. Maybe I didn't plan something quite right, and things fall apart... or everything goes great, but somehow, after things come to a close, I realize I planned for the wrong thing from the very start, and now I am in the wrong spot in my life.
Hiccups are bound to happen. Things will fall through. You're going to mess up, learn from your mistakes, try again, and yet still fail despite all of your plans and good intentions. During these times, the tiny blossom you are can feel like it's wilting and fading away. You could feel drained and like you will never get where you need to be. Let me say, off the bat, that these moments aren't you wilting and fading away. If you choose to learn from every moment in your life, these moments become the very times when you bloom the most. Your little blossom starts to unfurl her petals and show just how beautiful and strong you are when faced with adversity. How you push through despite everything that stands in your way, how you remain kind when others test you, and how you own your mistakes and grow from them. When life is going well, we feel sunny and happy, and it is so easy to say in these moments, "Look at me! I'm blooming all right! I've got it all figured out." In these times, though, we're more often stagnant than when we are challenged. When we are challenged, we are forced to look at ourselves and see what needs pruning. What parts of this were because I am being too stubborn? Too proud? Too eager? What things do I need to work on and trim off, so I can grow more beautiful and complete? How can I blossom into the person I am meant to be? It's always easier to spot the flaws in other people. "If they had only done this instead of that," or "If they acted this way, I wouldn't have reacted like that". When we look in the mirror and recognize our own faults and make plans (those slippery things) to improve, we can start to see growth.
Now I know you're motivated and all ready to make self-improvement plans and instantaneously fix everything wrong in your life. So, now I get to burst your bubble. You know that beautiful self-improvement plan you just made? It's going to fail. Especially if it's something you really struggle with. I have one I am working on right now. I think I've messed up or fallen back into this particular struggle at least 8 times in the past two weeks. It's terrible! The hard part now is looking at your mess-up, forgiving yourself, and trying again. You HAVE to get back up. Every time. Day or Night. 100% ready to try again and probably mess up again. You will get better, slowly but surely, and bloom and learn about yourself through the process.
I want to challenge you. As we finish out spring, choose one thing you struggle with. You want to work on one flaw or stumbling block and make a plan to overcome it. By actually writing down a plan, you are more likely to commit and follow through with it. See where it takes you. If you mess up, try again. If you mess up again, keep going. By getting up over and over again, you can overcome and grow. I believe in you.As always, thanks for reading! Feel free to comment or share any struggles or ideas you have! Until next time!
